Summer brings us the beauty of nature and a perfect way to preserve this beauty is in silver clay!  In this workshop, participants will use leaves to imprint into fine silver metal clay, an eco-friendly clay made of fine silver particles.  Participants will make a pendant or a pair of earrings and will use a torch to fire the clay, resulting in a beautiful piece of 99.9% fine silver.  Participants can bring in leaves from their own garden, but there will also be a variety of leaves available at the workshop.

The cost of the workshop includes a small package of Art Clay Silver metal clay, a sterling silver jump ring for pendants or ear wires for earrings, and use of tools for the workshop.  Necklace chains are not included, but will be available for purchase at the workshop.

No previous experience with metal clay is necessary to take this workshop.  Be sure to register early as this workshop is limited to only 6 registrants.  Please note that participants must be 18 years of age or older to use a butane torch.  Participants under 18 may take the workshop with permission from the instructor, but will not be able to use a torch (jewellery will be finished by the instructor, please email before registering).

Registrants must tie up long hair and avoid wearing loose long sleeves when torch firing.  It is also recommended to wear closed toed shoes. The studio and library are not responsible for any injuries. Students are welcome to bring in any magnification aids.
